we recommend 0.20 bb pellets with this one

The British L86A1 has a good FPS! the metal cocking sound is nice and solid!. This is a single action gun with with few metal parts finished in two tone blue with grey and black parts.
the gun comes with a for grip and carry handle and a small pack of bb pellets
The MAG capacity is about 200 rounds. this gun uses 0.12g BBs but will take 0.20 if preferred.

Review of the SA80 Carbine
Listed as the L86A1 by the manufacturer, its actual designation is the L22 Carbine and is issued to MBT Crewmen. This two tone springer model comes with optical sight powered by 2 LR13 batteries (supplied), a clamp fitted torch and forward pod grip. It also comes with a partial Iron Sight system which is pointless as there is no foresight block or place to attach one. It functions well as a spring powered single shot back yard plinker and has quite an impressive velocity. Although this type of weapon is cocked using the left hand, it functions well by use of the right hand to cock it as my eldest son put into practice. All in all, its a good quality BB gun for back garden beer can shooting. Not for use at a skirmish site unless you are brave as the rate of fire is too slow. On a technical side and some may say a bit pedantic, the safety catch works in reverse and there is no guard around the magazine release catch. All in all we are happy with the purchase. 9.5 out of 10.

worst part of this gun is that it has no telescopic sight to aim it accurately and isn't even available to buy separately , its mechanisms are noisy, so overall it is an unsatisfactory product
